The Site

Australian Gamer is for people all over Australia who are into games, into gaming, or just into the same sort of things things that we're into.

One of the major reasons we chose to create Australian Gamer is that we feel Australia is ignored and insulted as a market. Our goal is to track down and question the stupid marketing that we are forced to deal with, and hopefully make some sort of improvement, or at the very least provide similarly disgruntled gamers a place to vent.

We provide news, reviews, exclusive features, and personal opinions about the state of the videogames industry in Australia and around the world.

We are australian gamers ourselves. We're not biased towards any one console, but feel every console has merit, and are big into the retro scene.

The Creators

About Matt

Matt is the brains of the operation. A spectacled programmer by day, and with all the sex-appeal that comes with that. Looks like a cross between Harry Potter and Montgomery Burns. Eeexcellent. Matt writes opinion articles, and tries to find time to play World of Warcraft.

About Yug

Yug is the beauty and the heart. Flashy, young, hip and happening. Yug spends less time on AustralianGamer than he'd like to now, as he spends a huge amount of time on his stupendously successful venue The Mana Bar - the world's first videogame themed bar, in Brisbane and Melbourne.

Team Co-ordinator

About Jae

Jae

Jae was originally only hired as a result of governmental equal opportunity programs, but has turned out to be a great reviewer as well as a token Asian. Jae's consistent and excellent reviews suggest a man who is stable and reliable. This is a lie. Do not go out drinking with this man. It will hurt you.

Jae is responsible for organising reviews, and co-ordinating and facilitating staff access to events, and is almost always the main contact with publishers.

Australian Gamer Team

About AJ

AJ

AJ was one of the first reviewers AustralianGamer took on, and every time he tries to quit we refuse to accept it. He's been with us for years, and has been incredibly valuable in that time. He's mature, intelligent, well spoken and just slightly cranky. AJ is reviewing less than he used to due to commitments with his successful software development house Angry Monkeys

About Barry

Barry

Barry has joined in large part to focus on increasing amounts of video content AG would like to be producing. He'll also be putting out plenty of reviews and features of his own, of course.

About Cav

Cav

Big, bald, beared and beautiful - to know him is to love him. Cav is the most productive writer in AustralianGamer history, repeatedly turning out excellent reviews quickly, despite having a large family. I don't know how. Neglect?

About Cormac

Cormac

Quiet and considering, Cormac is yet to write a huge volume of content for AustralianGamer. Most of his time is spent working as the bartender for Yug's Mana Bar, which he also did a lot of the interior art for. Cormac has a wealth of talent as a street artist as well as a writer, and is a valued recent addition to Australian Gamer. With or without dreadlocks.

About DrDaniel

DrDaniel

The newest member of the AG team, Daniel has just completed a PhD. Dr Daniel will be bringing a level of academic intelligence that is always welcome on the site. For those concerned that the site will get too smart, don't worry. The rest of us will drop our standards accordingly.

About Luke

Luke

Luke has consistently posted important news before anyone else can get it up there, or even hears about it. He's done a number of reviews in a startlingly short time, and brings a much needed level of professionalism to his presence here. Luke often works with Jae on video and preview content.

About Mirne

Mirne

A long time forum member, Mirne joins the team. Despite being one of the younger team members we remain optimistic that Mirne can inject a voice of quiet intelligence in team that's mostly loud and stupid people.

About Nat

Nat

The newest addition to the Australian Gamer writing team, Nat is a young student from Canberra, and the first of our writers to come from that fine city. So if anything ever happens in Canberra we'll have you covered. Nat likes long walks on the beach. Probably.

About Sarge

Sarge

Sarge has been an active participant in the forums and online gaming community of AG for years. Sarge will be running official gaming nights for AG, so hassle him if you want to get your Xbox Live on!

About Tom

Tom

The newest addition to the Australian Gamer arsenal, Tom's extensive experience writing for online publications will see him taking on an important role here. He'll be largely overseeing the process of publishing and editing of content, to improve the quality of all writers, as well as contribute his own fine works.
