“The "It was tough but we were tough too" type monologues get tiring after a while. Especially when it comes from someone who sounds like they woke up confused and mixed up the rice bubbles with gravel from the garden path.”

Someone once asked (on a forum, somewhere, was it here?) ‘What song do you want played at your funeral?’ My answer was simple: ‘The Entertainer’, a 1902 piano rag written by Scott Joplin. It actually features in Saints Row on the XBOX360 and Lego Island on the PC. Off you go, go and find it! Well, that’s me: an Entertainer. Aside from my boring daytime desk job, I have my own business presenting Trivia Nights, been at it for four years. If you ever need a show for your pub or club look me up! I am a happily married father of three girls, and everyone in this family are gamers! I enjoy getting my friends around for Singstar, Buzz and Poker nights and a few beverages, which always leads to a night of fun!

What is your most memorable gaming experience?
Completing Breath of Fire II on the Super Nintendo, after renting if week after week and possibly paying off the store owners mortgage! Then paying $15 for it when he sold all his SNES carts when the PS1 made the scene.

Where would you be found on a typical Friday night?
That can vary – I could be presenting a Quiz Night at a local pub or club, if not, I am home, either gaming by myself, with my family and/or friends.

What is your favourite movie?
It’s too hard! Star Wars, Napoleon Dynamite, Ferris, Aliens … the list goes on!

What is your favourite food?
Nachos – must have guacamole and sour cream

What is your favourite drink?
Scotch and Dry …. or Sunkist if the scenario calls for no alcohol.

What are your favourite 5 games of all time, and why?
  • Breath of Fire II & Lufia : two of my fav RPGs and the only reason I still own a SNES (bring on the Virtual Console versions!)
  • Final Fantasy VII : another RPG that owes me many months of my life
  • Silent Hill : still love that intro music!
  • The Heroes of Might and Magic series (does that count as one?) : great to put on the projector screen and sit around with a few drinks and a few mates!
