Cormac is clearly a hazard to himself and others. A hippy among gamers and a gamer among hippies, he pretty much always had his lunch money stolen. He’s a proud owner of bachelor’s degree in creative writing which honestly is in one of these boxes, somewhere. Forever a sucker for an anti-heroine, possibly as a result of usually playing as Chun Li in Super Street Fighter II as a kid. Who knows. After which he saved up all his pennies for a Nintendo 64 at age 10. Jumping ship to Microsoft after the grand betrayal that was the Gamecube (which still gets some love, don’t get him wrong) he now bounces between FPSs and RPGs like a bugged banana bomb.

What is your most memorable gaming experience?
Playing Mortal Kombat for the Wii, not having played an MK game since the Nintendo 64 days. It’s humbling to know that, as far as I think I’ve come, Scorpion’s spear is still back, forward punch.

Where would you be found on a typical Friday night?
Either at a gig, on a friends balcony, or joining the #LOFNOTC crowd.

What is your favourite movie?
Sin City

What is your favourite food?
Margarita Pizza

What is your favourite drink?
Coffee

What are your favourite 5 games of all time, and why?
  • Mass Effect : The first game to convince me that we were nearly ready for an Oscar for achievement in interactive storytelling. Nearly.
  • Fallout 3 : Bethesda’s open world in an Electro punk setting with Liam Neeson, Ron Perlman, Malcolm Mcdowell and hyper violence. Fuckin’ aye.
  • Bioshock : Beautifully dark and atmospheric steam punk mind fuckery.
  • Deus Ex 2 : Received a lot of bad press and fan rage but I really dug this game. The moral ambiguity makes the interactive level of the story telling absolutely necessary and employs narrative techniques I’ve not seen in many other games.
  • Fable : A game that I could love with all its faults and broken promises. That’s love dude, that’s love.
