Hi the names’ Jae, I’m 24 and living in the sunny city of Perth. Very soon I am making a huge career move over to Sydney. It’s going to be scary, since I’ve lived all my life in Perth, but the best thing that comforts me is having all my kids with me, and by kids I mean my consoles. I believe in order to live a great life you need to have a balance of work, exercise, food and something you truly enjoy. Games are my favourite past time. I’m open to most game genres even fond of quirky games such as puzzlers, JRPGs, Rhythm & music games. Being a fitness instructor was something I wanted to do to challenge myself, getting up on stage in front of 50 odd gym members and screaming down a headset to get them to pump out 10 more push ups is great motivation. Believe it or not teaching has its own euphoria and drug like rushes. After spending the better part of the day stuck in an office, having meetings after meetings, I look forward to hitting the gym and turning fat peoples into …uh…less fat peoples. Other interest are that I like anime, such as Bleach, my favourite trash TV program is Girls of the Playboy Mansion and I have the best girlfriend in the world. She loves Halo and Gears of War! The bad thing is she can beat me at most games, except Singstar – I’m the raving diva when it comes to the 80’s. I like to keep busy, which I think shows with all the classes I teach outside of office work, so I know reviewing and writing for A-G will keep the Jae man up till the wee hours of the morning. My goal over the next twelve months is to see more of the Australia, up till now Melbourne has been my only destination for holidays so hopefully with my new role I’ll get to travel around a fair bit and also meet the rest of the A-G crew.

What is your most memorable gaming experience?
Working at the games section in Kmart during the PS2 launch morning and having a total of 2 people wanting to buy the machine. I was one of them.

Where would you be found on a typical Friday night?
In Perth Brass Monkey, lived and worked just up the road so it was a great place to hang around for a few pints.

What is your favourite movie?
Bring it on

What is your favourite food?
Anything Japanese (not raw) and Italian

What is your favourite drink?
Right now my new bottle of Absolut 100 the bottle is a sexy black thing.

What are your favourite 5 games of all time, and why?
  • Metroid Prime : After playing countless first person shooters, that were all about shooting to kill, this was a breath of fresh air. Graphics blew me away with this one.
  • Final Fantasy VII : my first 3D role playing game that got me hooked on RPGs, I spent over 100 hours perfecting and mastering all my materia and beating all the Weapons.
  • Legend of Zelda: Link to the past : One of the earliest ‘hardcore’ games I played and thoroughly enjoyed. First time I ever felt like I was using my brain to solve puzzles in a game.
  • Space Channel 5 : You play a sassy pink haired TV reporter in space, you get to get your groove on with MJ the king of pop! What more could a boy ask for?
  • Dune : My very first exposure to the genre of real time strategy. Harvesting to get money which buys you things to conquer the enemy with. Screw Starcraft 2 gimme Dune next gen.
