Samo has been into games ever since going around to his mates places as a young ‘un and stealing every moment he could to play shooting gallery on Ye Olde Windows 3.1. Ah those were the days. Now he’s all grown up and by day he tries to sell cars to people. By night he tends to spend far too much time playing games. Samo has mostly been a PC gamer, but there has always been a console in the mix somewhere. His biggest mistake ever was buying an N-Gage at release; feel free to ridicule him for his side-talkin’ shenanigans in the forums. He’s not a complete clot though, as the current love of his life is his xbox 360. Samo is very excitable and if you ever see him excited about something, it’s best to run and hide; he may talk you into buying an N-Gage
What is your most memorable gaming experience?
Spending countless school holidays dragging N64 controllers around to mates places to play four player Goldeneye.
Where would you be found on a typical Friday night?
Either out drinking or punishing the xbox for keeping me in from drinking.
What is your favourite movie?
Too tough to call it between V for Vendetta and Fight Club.
What is your favourite food?
Chicken Parmagiana – Especially the Parma from the Palmerston in South Melbourne. mmmm.
What is your favourite drink?
Scotch Scotch Scotch, I love Scotch, watch it go down, down into my belly...
What are your favourite 5 games of all time, and why?
- Half Life 2 : Superb story, technical brilliance, the pace is perfectly balanced between sim and run-and gun. It really is godly in the realm of gaming greatness.
- Zelda Ocarina of Time : RPG perfection. Played it through countless times and it never ever gets old.
- Total Annihilation : This is strategy perfection. I don’t care what Yug says, TA is far better than Starcraft.
- Gran Turismo 4 : Vast, all encompassing and with the new physics model, damn near perfect.
- Banjo Kazooie : Innovative, compelling and while the packaging is that of a children’s game, there’s enough outright fun here for everyone. Still the best platformer ever
