“To me, Gridiron is a fairly simply game in concept. Get the ball into the end zone, and you score.

The complications arise in how to get the ball into the end zone, and this is where I encountered my problem.”

FAQ (frequently asked questions)

Q. How often do you update?
A new comic and update appears on the front page weekly on Mondays. Podcasts are updated weekly on Fridays. News, Reviews, Previews and Features are updated constantly.

Q. Why don't you put scores at the bottom of your reviews?
We always felt that scores on games are pointless. How can you honestly compare games in completely different genres to each other? At the end of the day, a game review is just one persons opinion about that particular game. We feel the most important thing is that you know WHO is reviewing the game, so you can have an understanding of where they are coming from. To that end, we felt that a 'summary' and 'pros' and 'cons' is more appropriate to give an accurate representation of our thoughts on a particular title, and hopefully encourages people to actually read the entire review.

Q. How do you decide what games to review?
We have 3 ways of getting games to review.

  1. A publisher will send us a game they would like us to review. We may or may not choose to review this game, and our final review is never influenced by the fact that the game was sent to us
  2. We will request a specific game from the publisher. It's always best to review a game you WANT to review, although our final review is never influenced by the fact that the game was sent to us
  3. We will purchase a specific game ourselves. Our team are serious gamers, and if we can't get a game sent to us, we will purchase a game through conventional methods.

Q. Can I become part of the AustralianGamer.com team?
Only if we are actively searching for new team members. When that happens, we announce it on the front of the site and invite people to apply. We narrow down the applicants and choose the final team members based on our own criteria.

Q. I'm having problems with the AustralianGamer.com website displaying properly, what should I do?
Please visit the contact us page and send either Matt an email describing the problem and the computer/software you are using.
