AJ: So you guys have just come from New Zealand, is that right? What did you think of the Kiwis? We don't like them too much over here...
Gus: It's small and quiet; I was surprised how small it was. We were in Wellington and it was only like 400,000 people.
AJ: So you didn't get down to the South Island at all?
Gus: We thought about it. We wanted to fly down to Christchurch and take the train across the South Island, but it was a 10 hour train ride, so we didn't do it.
Jason: So you guys don't like New Zealanders?
AJ: Ah, it's kinda a love-hate thing...mostly...hate...yeah. But they all move over here anyway, so there's more Kiwis here than there is there...we call them Kiwis, I don't know if you've heard of that...
Jason: Nope, I've just picked that up.
Gus: I've heard that before...and I don't blame them for moving over here from there
AJ: Well, it's a nice place! Did you do any Lord of the Rings tours or anything?
Gus: I saw some Lord of the Rings exhibits at the museum, but I didn't get in the van and drive around the island.
AJ: You didn't see any hobbits?
Gus: Ha ha, I saw a midget
AJ: Ah, you could've dressed him as a hobbit, I guess. You know they're famous for having sex with sheep over there.
Gus: Yeah, ha, I've heard that a few times.
Jason: (to Gus) Did you fuck a sheep?
Gus: Two, A black one and a white one.
Jason: At the same time?
AJ: The Velcro gloves are very important...
Gus: (laughs)
Jason: (laughs)
AJ: You guys at a restaurant called Monsoon Poon, is that right?
Gus: Yeah, it was the spiciest thing I'd ever eaten in my life.
AJ: Did you really just go there because of the name?
Gus: Yeah, we were asking people who came by our table at the convention for places, suggestions that we should go eat at. And they said "oh there's a pan-Asian place, and it's called Monsoon Poon", and I was like "does poon mean the same thing?", I asked him, "does poon mean the same thing here?" and he said "yeah", so it's like okay, we'll eat there.
Jason: (laughs)
AJ: You were in Australia a couple of years ago for the last festival, have you seen much of Melbourne?
Gus: Not this time, I haven't been out too much cos we just got here. Yesterday we were pretty busy all day. We leave on Thursday.
AJ: So you're not heading over to E3 then obviously?
Gus: Er, I'm not, some of the other guys were gonna stay there, we're gonna get back like around the 11th, which I think is the second day of E3.
AJ: Okay. Australia's shitloads better than New Zealand though, isn't it?
Gus: Oh yeah.
AJ: I just need to get that on tape.
Gus: I think Melbourne is probably my favourite city in the world.
AJ: Have you been to any other cities?
Gus: It's either here or Topeka, Kansas...
Jason: Gus has been just almost everywhere, right?
Gus: Just about.
AJ: Europe much?
Gus: I hate Europe.
AJ: Hate Europe? Just Europe cos they're Europeans?
Gus: I can appreciate that it's old and there's a lot of history, but it's old. I don't like that.
Jason: I think Europe's alright.
AJ: Have you freaked out that we call Burger King, Hungry Jacks?
Jason: I think that's funny, I didn't freak out.
AJ: I did when I went overseas and found out it was Burger King.
Jason: I think it's weird that your McDonalds burger has a beet on it
AJ: Ah, the McOz, yeah.
Jason: Is it good?
AJ: Yeah, yeah! Real good, you should try one. I guess it's good if you like beetroot, if you don't, then probably not.
Jason: Also, our McDonald's don't have cafes in them
Gus: The McCafe?
AJ: That's a recent thing, coffees become the in thing in Melbourne.
Jason: There's ten cafes on every block.
AJ: Yeah, and Starbucks is taking over Melbourne.
Jason: Yeah, I saw one yesterday.
AJ: We got our local version which is Gloria Jean's, which is kinda the same sorta thing but the coffee's worse.
Gus: We have Gloria Jean's up in the States also.
Jason: We do?
Gus: Yeah. Ever seen em?
Jason: Nope.
Gus: I don't think there's any in Texas, but I've seen them up in Seattle.
Jason: Oh, that makes sense.
