“Now, I know my memory isn't as good as it used to be, almost a decade of substance abuse that would make Hunter S. Thompson go 'slow down kid' will do that to the brain.”

EXCLUSIVE Uwe Boll Interview

Yug and Matt get an exclusive interview with video game movie director Uwe Boll, about his upcoming projects.

Introduction : Page 1 : Page 2
Most gamers out there will be familiar with the name Uwe Boll, the German director made famous by his movies based on video game franchises.

These include: House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, and BloodRayne; as well as upcoming movies based on Dungeon Siege, Postal, and Far Cry.

While heavily criticized on practically every medium, Uwe Boll is almost as vocal in his defense, even going so far as to challenge his online critics in an amateur boxing match.

Mick Gordon from GameAudioAustralia.com is currently working on the score for Postal, and was able to put us in touch with the infamous director for an exclusive phone interview.

While not the biggest fans of his work, it's hard not to get caught up in his enthusiasm and genuine love of his work, and rather then let the interview sink into a standard 'why do you think people hate you' witch hunt, we wanted to know more about how Uwe sees himself, the difficulties of raising your own finance, and his work on possibly the most controversial movie to be released in recent memory - Postal.

We also got to talk to him about other projects of his including 'Seed' and 'Tunnel Rats', the latter being an unannounced Vietnam War movie which, in a twist, he would like to create a video game for at the same time.

The transcript that follows is from our 40 minute phone interview, unedited and in full. Enjoy :)
