“Well maybe that’s just my opinion, but when I started playing I heard the Ramones ‘Psychotherapy’, then Cheap Trick’s ‘Surrender’ followed by Nirvana with ‘Lounge Act’, I felt like I had set the songlist myself. Okay I’m showing my age!”

Stop luring us in with your useless features

Comments from Jae - July 4th @ 1:12am

I must've fell asleep during the PSP Go's announcement at E3 because there are a bunch of features the little man will have when he launches later this year. Namely you will be able to use a PS3 controller with the machine. How you would hold this without buying a redicoulously expensive piece of acrylic from the likes of Nyko or Powerwave ceases to amaze me. Also pressing the two shoulder buttons at the cross media bar will bring up the clock. Wow its like, revolutionary.

This is why Australia needs Xbox Live Indie Games

Comments from Phil - July 2nd @ 9:31am

I typed out a huge spiel about Indie Games, then lost it all. I blame Matt. Forget it. Just watch the trailer.

I Just Want to Sit Down and Play Across the Table

Comments from Brett - July 1st @ 3:53pm

So Starcraft II has no LAN multiplayer, as revealed by Rob Pardo from Blizzard in an interview a couple of days ago:

Cav's Crapper Catalogue Cash In Vol. 1

Comments from Cav - June 30th @ 5:15pm

When you get you my age and have yourself a mortgage and four kids, there are two things in life that you will really appreciate: Time to yourself and saving a dollar or two.

So... We finally get a lightsabre for the Wii?

Comments from Brett - June 29th @ 9:42am

You have to wonder why it took so long for the wii to get one of these...

If Jesus Were Here, I Would Fight Him Too

Comments from Brett - June 25th @ 8:23pm

Have you ever considered just how incredibly useful buttons can be? You can do your shirt up with buttons, maybe even your jeans if you're one of those trendy Levi wearing types. You can describe things that are attractive to look at by saying that they are as 'cute as a button' and best of all you can control your favourite video game character by using the buttons on your controller.

IRC is soooo 1990! #AustralianGamer now on AustNet

Comments from AJ - June 25th @ 9:27am

A few old bastards here have asked about getting an IRC channel going, for those who miss the old shoutbox. Well, weI've gone and done it. I will be idling on AustNet holding the door open to #AustralianGamer for anyone who wants to drop by! By all means drop in and say hi, just don't expect a response :P Big thanks to Coz for getting the channel unbanned and re-registered and generally reminding me how stuff works!

Activision Blizzard may stop making games for the PS3; Sony fanbois cry out in teen angst

Comments from Starks - June 24th @ 11:59pm

I have no idea why they'd do this. Boycotting a medium that will net them a profit is, in my opinion, a poor business choice. Whilst I would agree that the PS3 is a difficult console to work on, it is without a doubt the best hardware on the market and removing yourself from that segment is just... stupid. Read on for more info.

Guiness book record for most amount of simultaneous Korean boys pleasuring themselves

Comments from Jae - June 24th @ 11:26pm

I'm more of a C & C guy but this makes me want to convert real bad. Part 1

How I actually mentally solved a problem yesterday using a dungeon map

Comments from George - June 14th @ 10:49am

( Before anyone asks Yes I actually visualized the the pictures in this story.)

Bone On with the Raskulls gameplay trailer!

Comments from Phil - June 12th @ 10:03pm

Now this is what I'm talking about. I'm proud to present the first official Raskulls gameplay trailer, with all kinds of footage - single player adventure, multiplayer action and even a few tidbits of the cutscenes and story. This kind of simple, fun and polished game is exactly what XBLA needs. Enjoy!

Why not go import crazy

Comments from Jae - June 11th @ 8:40pm

Bringing that financial flavour to town, I've noticed this morning that the Aussie dollar has hit about $0.80USD which is pretty high considering the last few months. What this means for gamers is that you can look forward to cheaper import games. I hear Ghostbusters is region free for the 360 in the US so go crazy folks! If you're looking for import sites check out the import feature. Also check with your bank on the day's exchange rate to make sure they've passed on the rates.

Playstation - Needs More Lady Gaga

Comments from Matt - June 11th @ 2:12am

Have you ever been browsing the PlayStation Store or idling in the PS3's interface and found yourself thinking "boy I wish I could watch some video clips from Eminemo or Lady Gaga on this thing"? Well, your silent prayers have been answered!

Re-Shelled

Comments from Yug - June 11th @ 2:02am

You wanna know how big a fan I was of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? I still have a box that consists of EVERY first generation action figure and vehicle, complete with the original cardboard backing that came with each one. I have the full set of the trading cards from the first and second movie, and the stickers from the TV show. I have over 40 archie comic's featuring the turtles, and I still have the promotional cups that Pizza Hutt gave away back in the day. I even have the collectable coins that were given away weekly in the Sunday Mail at one point, and have the VHS versions of the 3 feature length movies.

Max Payne 3 - Die Harder

Comments from Yug - June 11th @ 1:46am

Erase the memories of the Max Payne movie from your mind and recall how awesome the first two games were. The second one is on my top 10 favourite games list of all time, so you can imagine how much I'm looking forward to the third one in the series.

This is why you shouldn't piss Jae off

Comments from Oracle - June 10th @ 10:46pm

Let this be a warning for BrutalGod and all the other wannabe Street Fighter II pro fighters.

Goodbye Samo

Comments from Yug - June 10th @ 4:51am

As much as I wish those who are part of the AustralianGamer.com Team would be so until the day they die, life tends to get in the way, and with that in mind it's with much regret that I announce the departure of one of our longest and most unique contributors over the years.

BAM! there it is!

Eddie Riggs on tour this Rocktober!

Comments from Oracle - June 9th @ 6:37am

There are two games that I'm more than eager to get my grubby mitts on.

1. Ghostbusters The Video Game (I may have to steal a PS3) and..
2. Brutal Legend.

After recently completing Schafer's psychotic adventure on the Xbox it has opened my eyes to Tim's creative skill in amazing adventure games and his creative humour. Brutal Legend starring Jack Black will be out in stores this Rocktober on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

iPhone ipwns

Comments from Jae - June 8th @ 7:21pm

In celebration of iPhone announcements I'm posting this using an iPhone. Yes a little painful but possible. Apple have announced their newest iPhone 3GS which sports better graphics, 3.0 Megapixel autofocus camera, video recording, better battery life and many more. Asthetically the new iPhone doesn't look any different. The announcement that excites me most is the OS firmware 3.0 for existing 3G iPhones (2nd generation). Releasing on 17th June this upgrade will encorporate MMS and copy & paste functions. Woohoo!! All the iPhone haters: sucks to be you! So look out for my naked pics when MMS hits in about a week.
