Gears of Warhammer

Comments from Yug - September 7th @ 11:22pm

There's finally been some media leaks to the public about the new non-Nickelodeon game that THQ Studio Australia have been developing (NDA's preventing me from talking about it until now). It's a new game set in the Warhammer universe called Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, and there's some early build development footage that's now out there on the internets. Check it out and tell us what you think int he forums.

Chalk it up Spore style

Comments from Jae - September 7th @ 3:36pm

So I was taking a walk home from Chinatown today (yes contrary to belief I don't live there) and in Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour, the Chalk Urban Art Festival was on. A nice piece of art could be found in the underpass relating to the newest Will Wright game.

But can you pimp out your Spore creatures with custom decals and neon lights?

Comments from Yug - September 6th @ 1:32am

I think NOT my friends ... the upcoming Midnight Club game however, gives you all this and more. I got the chance to get some hands on with the garage customisation section of the game, and was very VERY impressed. It's the kind of thing I could - as a designer by trade especially - spend hours simply tweaking the gradients and positions of the custom patterns on my car. Rockstar Games sent me the latest video showcasing some of the features I had a play around with, so enjoy.

The Monster Of Advertisement, Is A Sort Of Octopus

Comments from Brett - September 5th @ 9:50pm

Blatant product placement! That's what any relatively well performing, independent game site needs if it's going to become big enough to be bought out, and I'll be damned if I'm going to stand in the way of the Australian Gamer Progress Bus any longer. My friends at Toshiba agreed and said "Hey Brett, here's a Red Toshiba branded Pen and an unreleased Toshiba F50 Qosmio Notebook, now where's our free advertising?"

Sony hates your dad

Comments from Jae - September 4th @ 6:39pm

As Starks had mentioned on Monday, Sony's offer at the moment on $35 PSPs for Father's day is a deal that hopefully your dad and the Sony Foundation charity can enjoy. WRONG. All kinds of wrong.

Australian Guitar Hero World Tour Price Announced

Comments from AJ - September 4th @ 4:14pm

Well... I'll leave up to the forum to debate whether this is good news, bad news or irrelevant news (I get the feeling it will be the latter), but Activision have just released the official pricing for Guitar Hero World Tour.

Lets get physical!

Comments from Starks - September 4th @ 11:02am

Spore Hunt

Comments from Simon - September 4th @ 9:47am

As Oracle already mentioned, EB games broke Spore's release date and sent it out early. I set about tracking down a copy this morning.

Spore First Impressions

Comments from Matt - September 4th @ 1:38am

I've been looking forward to Spore more than pretty much any other game (but Little Big Planet) this year. So when a review copy arrived I grabbed it quicker than Lindsay Lohan getting out of rehab and dashed home to play.

365 Free Games

Comments from Simon - September 3rd @ 10:19pm

The July issue of UK PC Gamer ran a segment that was basically a glorious never ending list of Free PC downloadable games. Games Radar has that list in digitized form, complete with all the appropriate links and a brief summary of each game.

Shans Shenanigans Tonight!

Comments from Yug - September 3rd @ 8:35pm

I just felt like putting a little shout out for a show tonight over on netGameRadio called 'Shans Shenanigans', unsurprisingly hosted by a guy called Shan, who joined us for some drinks last Friday night and into the early hours of the morning. The show is an interactive talk back format, using the Ventrilo chat software. Anyways, I've logged on the last few weeks and had a really good time, as have a few other of our forum members - so if you're not busy tonight and feel like having a chat with myself and Shan about tonights topic (which I think will be about hardware - what's new and what are you looking forward to) head on over to NetGameRadio.com around about 10:30pm and I'll see you there!

Can't wait any longer for Spore?

Comments from Oracle - September 2nd @ 11:04am

Losing sleep lately? Keep day dreaming about creating your first Penis monster? Agree with me when I say this game should have been released two years ago? If you said yes to all of the above you are a Spore head and I come bearing good news! My good heterosexual friend Joaby from GameArena recently discovered the street date for Spore (4th September, this Thursday) has indeed been broken. What are you waiting for? Run Forrest run! Run like the 6 legged Vagina gremlin you are destined to create in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Our Republic And Its Press Will Rise Or Fall Together

Comments from Brett - September 2nd @ 12:15am

Rumours of a slow third quarter in gaming were quashed today with the arrival of an unprecedented seven press release emails in the Brett Industries email box. To say that I’m excited is an understatement. This amount of Press Release Email activity brings back fond memories of November 2007 and those giddy days of five, six, even nine daily emails from gaming PR people filling my inbox. I would bask in the cosy afterglow of a satisfying session of Thunderbird, wondering, is this what it feels like to have sexual intercourse?

Down Down Punch

Comments from Yug - September 1st @ 11:59pm

I love street press publications. They're the homeless media, keepin it real on the streets. And they're always so BIG! It's almost like they're trying to prove something to their glossy and costly counterparts. Some of you - most likely the more musically inclined - no doubt pick up copies and read through them regularly ... but did you know one of them now has a video game insert? Better still, did you know Matt and I are now writing a regular column inside? You didn't? Well read on for more details.

Epic honcho says PC Gaming in disarray, Gears of War 2 to be 360 exclusive

Comments from Samo - September 1st @ 11:32pm

As the PC gaming market gradually continues its downward spiral, it has taken another hit today with Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski confirming that Epic is not and will not be working on a PC version of Gears of War 2.

It's a trap!

Comments from Starks - September 1st @ 11:24pm

The anticipated Gears of War 2 is definately comin' along well, and Epic Games have managed to keep some character with the game itself. That is to say, they haven't made the achievements as boring as bat guana... Well, at least in name.

Accessorise with those apple bottom jeans and the boots with the furrrr

Comments from Jae - September 1st @ 7:05pm

Wow Sony does $35 PSPs for fathers day? Bargain! Does that mean I have to buy a $5000 Plasma to go with it? In the wise words of Run DMC "It's tricky tricky trickehhhh!". Microsoft has decided to do some price slashing of their own except all proceeds go to little ol Bill Gatesy and his entourage.

PSPs now an affordable Fathers Day present

Comments from Starks - September 1st @ 3:37pm

It appears as though Sony is trying to win over the fathers of Australia by offering them the PSP at a cut rate price of $35 bucks. Now, I have nothing against this, but I question what it does for the demographic of gaming that Sony is aiming the PSP at, and of course the obvious rort that fathers will inherently get coaxed by their children into buying the hand held for them.

Microsoft Japan slashes 360 price

Comments from Starks - September 1st @ 3:16pm

In a bid to gain higher share in the traditionally Playstation and Nintendo dominated console market, Microsoft Japan have slashed their prices by up to 30%.

Giant Pre-expansion WoW Patch coming soon

Comments from Matt - September 1st @ 11:49am

In the world of World of Warcraft (WoWoW... That's the people who play World of Warcraft. Those who write about or discuss those who play world of Warcraft are the World of the World of World of Warcraft, or WoWoWoW. And so on.)
