PlayStation Australia deny competition winner his prize.....

News from Cav - May 5th @ 7:18pm

Do remember the original Competitions thread on the old site? Well then, what about it's second coming? Well let me tell you about a prize that was mentioned in both those threads ... and on a Podcast!

This isn't exactly gaming news, but a while back, last October I was informed that I had won a prize from PlayStation Australia for taking the time to register my famous Pink PlayStation2. The prize was a $200 pair of Sony Wireless Headphones, a substantial prize if I do say so myself. After waiting about a month for my prize, I rang to see if it had been delivered - it had not. Christmas came around and I made another call - an apology and 'we will follow it up - my guess it was up on top of the filing cabinet and down the back of it not too long after that. It was about that time when Matt made mention of this prize and it's non- appearance on a podcast, along with other non-issued prizes.

To cut a long story short, 29 weeks from the day I was notified that I have won a prize (being today) I rang Sony again, a happy young chap named Tom proceeded to put me on hold while talking to 'Head Office' - my guess is he nicked off for a smoke - Tom came back and told me that the competition had been redrawn and that they had run out of headphones, that is why I never recieved them. I did ask if there would be a replacement prize, but no. He was quite happy to joke and say 'It's just a pair of headphones', although he did change his tone when I told him the value of the prize. Tom did give me a call reference number, though.

Believe me, my gaming friends, this is not the last you will hear of this saga.
