Sony hates your dad
News from Jae - September 4th @ 6:39pm
As Starks had mentioned on Monday, Sony's offer at the moment on
$35 PSPs for Father's day is a deal that hopefully your dad and the Sony Foundation charity can enjoy. WRONG. All kinds of wrong.
Today I walked past Sony Central World Square, what I would say is Sony's largest retail outlet in Australia. I decide to walk in to see what the offer was really about. I knew you had to buy something else to get the $35 PSPs so I was curious to see what it would be. The not-so-lovely sales attendant told me the promotion was not currently running and that details would come to light closer to Father's Day. Ummmm Father's Day is in
three days!?
After trying my best to get more information from the store all I could get was:
"It's probably going to be a deal where you buy a Plasma or high end expensive Stereo HiFi, then you get the $35 PSP."
A perfect example where a marketing and public relations team don't communicate with their operations and retail teams well.
Look out for Sony's next deal: buy something in store during Thanksgiving and they'll pretend to give you a Turkey with a PS3 shoved up its bottom.
Sony = fail.
