“It’s a shame then that a game with such graphical polish, attention to detail and clever dialogue is let down by decidedly average gameplay mechanics, ironically the very same issues that the game itself continually pokes fun at.”

theCAVman Report - eGames - Day 1

News from Cav - November 17th @ 7:01am

After setting up the AustralianGamer.com booth in the nick of time, once again complete with my massive 80cm CRT TV, a SNES, an N64, a MegaDrive, a Dreamcast and a host of games including last years favourites Goldeneye and MarioKart 64. The doors opened to the public and they flooded in, well not exactly, as the Friday of eGames weekend is normally the quietest of the three day event.

Once again our booth closely resembles a shared house, which many who attended agreed with!

I only got a few chances to escape our booth, but I did manage to take a look at Skate It on the Wii using the Wii Balance Board, it will take a bit of getting used to but I now rate that up there with my most anticipated. I also had a shot at Wii Music, which was disappointing. I don't know if it was the lack of enthusiasm and/or instruction from the booth attendant or the game itself. I'll have to have another go before I make a final decision.

Goldeneye and Gamers reunited again!

Did you notice the T-Shirts hanging around the booth? Well Rockstar Games have been awesomly generous to us and have given us a heap of prizes to give away. All you have to do is come and see us at eGames, sign up to our new newsletter, which I will be putting together on a regular basis, and answer a question about Rockstar's Midnight Club Los Angeles. For those of you not able to get to eGames - don't fret! We will have a new sign up section up on australiagamer.com really soon, which will include the question!

Huge thanks to the crew at Rockstar for the awesome prizes!

The real NEWS is that after eGames on Saturday is a real SOCIAL event where you can ROCK out with the STARs of Australian Gamer at Beer De Lux in Fed Square in Melbourne. For more info hit this link here. An outing like this is sure to TEST your DRIVE and you'll probably spend enough money to buy an AUDI R8.

Apologies to all my fans, but I am not at eGames today and won't be out tonight, but I'll be back tomorrow to take more names for our newsletter.
