Anyone who reads this and lives in Brisbane can probably appreciate how severe the storms have been the last few nights, and unfortunately they took a toll on the apartment where I live in Fortitude Valley.
The other night I woke up and put my feet in about an inch of water that was covering my room. It was just like in those insurance ads, only not funny at all. Think the Rainy Brisbane Gamers Meetup except without the alcohol and drunk friends.
We got some carpet inspector guys to have a look at the place the next day, and they said the carpet was too far gone and would have to be replaced. Unfortunately this meant moving all our furniture as if we were moving out.
There was another batch of storms tonight as well, which flooded my balcony and even managed to cave the balcony roof in - plasterboard and electrical fittings hanging around, as the water seems to have seeped into the ceiling, which explains the lack of power as well.
I suppose the point to me mentioning all this to you is for numerous reasons.
First of all, I wanted to complain about it to someone, and 'the internet' is as good a someone as anyone.
Second of all, my promised eGames report and coverage will most probably be delayed, since my access to the internet will depend heavily on the third point. I did manage to get the video footage edited however, and you can check it out below:
Thirdly - I'm homeless for a short period of time. I can't stay in my soggy unit as all my stuff (including the bed) is packed away so it's off the carpet.
So if you do see me at work, GCAP, Game On, Brisbane Gamers Meetup, or any other upcoming events - this might explain why I'm in a slightly grumpy mood!
