My friend bought the EUR special edition of Stranglehold. It had an 18 rating. Is that legal for them to sell it here? It was second hand but it's in perfect condition ($60).
If a R-rating category is approved in Australia, I have a feeling that the Government is going to stuff it up.

Hi, first post. GTA IV has done something different with the public's perception of gaming, I think. I work in an environment with an extremely low count of people who have even *heard* of an "ex box". But they have heard of GTA IV, I suppose through a mix of marketing and controversy. I think that folks who don't care a jot about gaming have been made aware of the R rating issue, and have opinions - and most of those opinions tend to be pro-choice.
I doubt this means much, I can't see the attorney-generals and such going "Whoa, GTA IV sold well, I guess they were right!"
Being proven wrong often makes people push their side even more.
This also proves that adult games like GTA IV are still being released successfully without the R18+ rating
Haha I sound like Mr. Downer!
