Why so serious Pandemic?

Possibly the Australian gaming industries worst kept secret is the huge movie-tie in game that Pandemic Studios Brisbane has been working on the last few years. I've received a few emails today however with what looks like some unfortunate information regarding it's status. Hit the jump for more.
The word is that their game has been cancelled by the higher ups due to it running behind schedule, which means there's going to be a whole bunch of people either moving to the Pandemic LA offices, or looking for work elsewhere later this week.
Keep in mind right now this is all early speculation ... and even if it is true, it doesn't even rank along side Auran's efforts late last year. The official word we got from the admittedly lovely people we spoke to at Pandemic today offered a polite but expected 'no comment', so for now we shall just have to wait and see.

See I have an opinion on this... I don't think this is a reflection of Pandemic at all; rather a reflection of the massive pressure that creating current-gen content puts on developers. It's getting harder and harder to keep up; for everyone imho.
I would be really interested to see if similar upheavals took place during the last-gen shift

I've been watching the new stories on various sights about the 'rumored and unconfirmed' batman title throughout the year. It always surprised me that no one tipped the media off to the lecture they did at GDC earlier this year, which included slides showing a Commissioner Gordon model and another with the bat symbol on the HUD. The slides are still available on the GDC website I believe.
From what I've seen of Yug's previous 'breaking news' stories he's not one to post unsubstantiated rumors, so it's worrying that there is likely some credibility to this. Hopefully everything turns out good for the guys at Pandemic, I've been waiting to play this game.
why can they never say Nope its a lie... Saying 'no comment' makes me feel like they are realy making it but just want to laugh at me...
