48 hr Game Challenge - Phil arrives to save the day

After Simon's desperate pleading for some kind of sanity during the night, I opted to grace the QUT Creative Industries Precinct with my presence this fine Sunday morning. The last time I was here I studied film, and it's a pretty decent campus with a comprehensive student village. However, it wasn't the fun and games I came back here for. It was the elevator.

There's this big elevator in the middle of nowhere which connects the street level to the upper level balcony. They built a big column just for housing the elevator, and it looks cool. Check it.



The best part about it, however, is the music. As you ascend to the heights of creativity, opting not to get any unnecessary exercise on the stairs, an instrumental version of John Denver's Country Roads will accompany you for the ride. For those who don't know, John Denver is one of the biggest badasses to have ever lived. Worship him.



Come to think of it, Denver reminds me of someone else I know. The similarities are uncanny.



Anyway, I arrive at the elevator, giddy with delight over riding the John Denver Experience once again. My hopes and dreams are then shattered mercilessly.



Such is life.

The actual Game Challenge (I'm not just here to talk about John Denver) seems to be running pretty swimmingly. Even though a few disheartened team members are collapsed on the floor needing medical attention, spirits don't seem particularly low and everyone is hard at work. Mik is playing Puzzle Quest and Simon has completely crashed. Matt is MIA, although I did take a sneak peek at his Stratego game. It looks pretty cool, but nobody knows if it actually works. Probably not.
