I can see where you are coming from but you said a blanket statement that Starcraft wasn't micro heavy, without making any differentiation between single player or whatever. And nothing can be further from the truth. It's extremely micro heavy...insane, as Sebastianimator put it. In fact not many RTS games released since Starcraft have really come close to it.

Watch some of the pro gamers over at http://www.gomtv.net/channel/channelStar.php (I recommend the Intel Classics) and you'll see just how micro heavy the game is.

I concede the point that multiplayer and competitive gaming are micro-heavy/insane I still however stand by my comments now that they have been clarified.

"Oh my god, look at that probe!"

The commentary shits me to tears. Mind you, I hardly ever played starcraft online outside of custom maps.

EDIT: Those infesters seem a bit strong, taking over his strongest unit, thought it would have caused the infester's death when they take over something but apparently not.

The infestor's effect is temporary though. You can see that the Zerg only has control of those Protoss units for a few seconds. Mind you it's enough to wipe out the rest of the army.

Remember Dark Archons in Brood War? They could control a unit indefinitely, and if you took control of a builder unit you could build a whole new army.

No, and I never intend to play it competitively, but that does not necessarily negate my point, I'm taking this game from a single-player perspective where I don't have to play massive amounts of multiplayer, and here-in lies my key point, against other people to get value for my money. I would rather play a comp-stomp game with 2 other people against computers. I am quite happy playing with people rather then against.

Thankfully it looks like they've gotten rid of some of the ability micro in SC2 so that each time you press the "use ability" button, only one unit in your selection will use it, then if you press it again, the next unit will. Could be annoying, could be good. I can't tell yet smile.gif
