Make sure you get your MW2 preorder or you might not get it at all...
News from Starks - Monday, 09 November 2009 @ 10:53am
File this distinctly under the RUMOUR category for the moment.
Supposedly there could be trouble brewing on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 scene. Why, you ask?
One of Cav's mates has let us know that there is a 90% chance that the OFLC will have the game withdrawn from shelves due to the Terrorism scene it contains. Supposedly, there's a meeting at 9am on Tuesday morning about this very topic, which could determine whether the game is pulled off the shelves or not. Jae Jae, our resident snoop, is investigating if this is the case, so stay tuned and we'll let you know how it pan's out.
Is this a tactic just to get people to the midnight lauch? Is this real and we're at risk of losing one of the worlds biggest games just hours after it has launched? Will Batman save the world from the evil Mr Freeze and beat The Joker at poker? Stay tuned for the next mindblowing episode of 'Starks publishes a rumour Cav heard and can't post cause he's at work then waits until Jae tries to confirm!'
Update: Apparently Cav's source spoke to a GAME store in Kotara and they have supposedly been told by "Head Office" not to bother putting copies out on the shelves, since they are expecting it to get pulled. Just hand out the pre-orders at midnight, and that was it.
Update: Jae has spoken to Activision and they're full steam ahead with the launch of MW2. The Classification Board has made no contact or decision in regards to the latest controversy. Of course we'll keep you up to date with any news.
Update: Cav has spoken to the GAME store in Kotara, who say the rumour is crap and say they're ready from midnight tonight for both pre-orders and off the shelf.
