Atkinson believes gamers are 'dirty tricksters and criminal'

I just don't understand why he needs to go about his business in this manner. He's stooping to a level he claims we're at then painting us as the lowest of the low in society.
To sum it up, he's basically had a go at David Doe's Gamers4Croydon party, which is challenging Atkinson in two months for his seat. Whislt I have no doubt that David Doe is an underdog, such absolute disrespect for Doe and for gamers in Australia is just...
I'm speechless that a man his age has resorted to school boy bully tactics and the use of public power and voice to 'crush' a very legitimate politcal party. Why do people keep electing him?
Gamespot AU's Laura Parker has written an excellent article about Atkinson and his new nemesis David Doe, in which Atkinson accuses the new party of "dirty tricks" and stops barely short of calling all gamers "criminals".
We've been very impressed with Doe's stance and standard of behaviour and discourse, and take issue with Atkinson's words, both about him and about us.

I'll just keep posting stuff in here about R18, someone just sent me this on twitter.
@LukeLawrie A way to question and annoy the Prime Minister about R18+ ratings? i'm sure we must exploit this. http://tinyurl.com/yz3uyok
I think he'll avoid those questions as they aren't his business personally. I think the debate just needs to spin Atkinson to do something silly. He has actually spun out and defamed somebody in public before costing $200k so he is indeed a bit of a hothead.
The problem is people sending death threats making him even more self-righteous. We need to be cynical and vicious, but moreso intelligent. Not angry rancors. Rancors never win.

GameSpot have run an article today outlining some of the R18+ groups out there.
So if you are interested in getting involved check out some of the sites listed.

He says he's NOT the only one, just the only one to do so publically.
And no, you clearly having been keeping track at home - a change to the ratings system must have a UNANIMOUS vote by all Attorneys General. That's the problem.
Up top, my man.

Don't leave me hangin!
A perfectly crafted retort, well penned.
Hey... don't tell anyone, but... *peers around*... I actually stole that line from some jerkoff! Pretty smart of me, eh? :-)
