Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Announced

Sega have confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is currently in the works, with our blue speedy friend taking what appears to be the episodic route in his next set of adventures.
While not much has been revealed yet, GameSpot did manage to get the first details for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1.
One of our goals was to make a gorgeous-looking 2D Sonic game. This approach allows fans new and old to see what a 2D Genesis-style game would look like today with modern graphics.
While previous Sonic games have been disappointing for many fans, Sega has promised that they will deliver something that fans will enjoy by stepping back to that classic core gameplay.
We can expect to see this as a download for the Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3. No official release date or pricing has been confirmed.
The official Sonic the Hedghog 4 website has launched although a decent amount of it is still hidden.

let it go people, let it go. the first game i ever game i ever bought was sonic for the mega drive which i still have. but it is time to move on
I dunno but this doesn't make me have any hope in the game. When even a developer plans to make an "old school game" with "modern graphics" it never ends well
Well Sonic Rush on DS was 2D and it was the best Sonic game ive played since the old classics... It was at least on par with them, so im quite confident that this game will come up with the goods...
Can't wait to see how they fuck up my favourite platformer this time!
