PALGN and GAME keep the pressure on the R18 issue

So the submissions are now closed for the Commonwealth Government's discussion paper, but hang on a second ... don't think it's all over yet!
Videogame retailer GAME have teamed up with PALGN.com.au to launch a campaign designed to keep the pressure on the government to support the R18+ game classification. The platform being used is the EveryonePlays.org.au website, harnessing the enormous support from the gamers and the gaming industry.
Rob Lukic, GAME Managing Director had this to say:
“The public should be educated to ensure that children are not exposed to any video games with mature content, and the R18+ classification provides a clear message that this is the case. It will allow our (GAME) stores to offer clear advice to all customers, on the suitability of the content for the end user. An R18+ Classified product is clearly intended for Adults, based upon its content, and would not be suitable for anyone under that age.”
It's all about building awareness, and showing the government that the retailers are taking this just as seriously as the rest of the games industry. To become involved, head into your closest GAME store and sign the petition - already there are 3,000 signatures after only 48 hours of launching the campaign!!
