More Plastic Instruments On The Way? - Rock Band 3

Only a few weeks ago Activision admitted they regret not buying Harmonix and giving them the Guitar Hero franchise. There is a good reason why Activision said this, it’s because Rock Band is freakin amazing. So I’m happy to hear that another one is on the way soon.

Harmonix is developing Rock Band 3 for worldwide release this holiday season! The game, which will be published by MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts, will innovate and revolutionize the music genre once again, just as Harmonix did with the original Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and The Beatles: Rock Band. Stay tuned for more details!

The interesting part is that the statement says a worldwide release towards the end of the year. Rock Band 2 was released back in 2008 over in the United States; however it is yet to make its way over here in Australia. Does this mean we should expect the imminent release of Rock Band 2 very soon?
No other details have been announced yet, but as the resident Rock Band drummer, I’m hoping they give the drums an update to keep it in line with the latest guitar hero series.

but why does it need innovation and revolution to warrant a purchase? if its a package that comes with the same mechanics that use the instruments you already have and and plays just as well with a new bunch of awesome tracks like the other 2 have had, then why not buy it anyway?

Because between Guitar Hero World Tour, Metalica and Rockband I have plenty of songs, and I don't think what is basicly a glorified song pack is worth 100 bucks.

Oh geeze, I hope that 'revolutionize the genre' doesn't mean it'll be compatible with Natal.

seriously never thought of that. couldn't be any worse than what Peter Molynauxuesuaxew wants to do with it.

I hope like how Dhani Harrison describe a couple of months ago

A video game teaching me how to learn an instrument would be pretty cool

The technology has been around for a while...

I've never really got into the whole DDR instrument thing, but I might just have to give it ago when they release it for real guitars (with decent songs).
