Make sure you start the Youtube video, then read the lyrics below at a slow, methodical pace.
Unbreakable Union of freeborn Republics,
Great Russia has welded forever to stand.
Created in struggle by will of the people,
United and mighty, our Soviet land!
CHORUS:
Sing to the Motherland, home of the free,
Bulwark of peoples in brotherhood strong.
O Party of Lenin, the strength of the people,
To Communism's triumph lead us on!
Through tempests the sunrays of freedom have cheered us,
Along the new path where great Lenin did lead.
To a righteous cause he raised up the peoples,
Inspired them to labour and valourous deed.
CHORUS:
Sing to the Motherland, home of the free,
Bulwark of peoples in brotherhood strong.
O Party of Lenin, the strength of the people,
To Communism's triumph lead us on!
In the victory of Communism's deathless ideal,
We see the future of our dear land.
And to her fluttering scarlet banner,
Selflessly true we always shall stand!
CHORUS:
Sing to the Motherland, home of the free,
Bulwark of peoples in brotherhood strong.
O Party of Lenin, the strength of the people,
To Communism's triumph lead us on!
There’s so much I want to write about World in Conflict: Soviet Assault. Yet, it seems to me that to say the things I want to say would simply be a reiteration of what I wrote in my original review. The game itself is truly an expansion; All it added was a campaign that gave more depth and appreciation of the original title. In fact, I think the expansion would have been better had it been included in the actual original title, and integrated somehow.
Still, it’s a worthy addition to anyone who owned, enjoyed and played the original World in Conflict. There’s nothing new when it comes to units or the game engine itself; The main addition is two new multiplayer maps, the additional campaign and some really well put together cut scenes.
What I probably appreciated more was the graphics of the game, which is no doubt as high a quality on the original but since I could review the title on a decent box (ala my roommates) I really did appreciate the visual delights the game offers.
Summary
An addition only to someone who owns, enjoys and is looking for more out of World in Conflict. Definately not something that will change your mind if you hated the original, but definately something you should invest in if you loved it.
Pros
Great storyline thta fits in well with the original, new multiplayer maps are fresh and still visually stunning.
Cons
Nothing new, won't encourage new players and not enough vodka.
