Matt finally completes a video review and gets it up on the you-tubes! Feel free to comment either here or in the actual youtube comments. This first effort is Lost Planet 2, a game that focussed heavily on multiplayer co-op. Matt gives it a good play through and finds out why.
First of all I just wanted to mention that the length of the video is probably excessive. Future videos will be only about 4 - 5 minutes. Secondly, yes, this game is a bit old now. Doing this video with my free time took a lot longer than I expected. Sorry if some of the jokes are a bit out of date. Next one won't be so far behind!
Oh, and the promo image used for this review was not made by me it was found on google images and located on this review.
Which I only saw while looking for a promo image after I published my review, but echoes my statements almost word for word. Except that they used the word derp and I didn't. A lost opportunity.
Summary
Lost Planet was a solid game but mostly a single player one. LP2 attempts multiplayer but compromises far too heavily on the single player experience. While having MP online support is nice the game shouldn't mandate its use, and the lacklustre AI makes the whole thing a mess. As does the writing. And the story. And...
Pros
Can be fun. Nice monster design. VS are cool to play with.
Cons
Can't throw grenades while moving, godawful AI, underwater is idiotic, really not playable solo and not popular enough to find friends, incomprehensible story, some iffy polish, mundane fighting, bland weapons....
